I completed the MIS course here — every Excel topic covered in detail. The placement counselling was honest and genuinely helpful. Got placed at Hitachi as an MIS Executive within weeks of the placement drives.

Two months in and absolutely enjoying it. Coming from a completely non-technical background, the course structure made everything approachable. The Power BI module was a game changer for me.

The MIS dashboard project was directly relevant to my interview. I could show my interviewer a real dashboard I built — and that got me the offer. XL Academy's training is practically focused.

The VBA macro module saved me hours every week at my new job. No other training institute near me taught VBA as part of an MIS course. That alone made it worth choosing XL Academy.

Common Questions

MIS & Reporting — FAQs

What does an MIS Executive do?
An MIS (Management Information Systems) Executive collects, organises, and presents business data as reports and dashboards for management. They use Excel, SQL, Power BI, and similar tools to create daily, weekly, and monthly reports that drive decisions.
Is this course suitable for someone with no computer background?
Yes. If you can use a Windows PC and navigate basic software, you can start this course. We begin with Excel fundamentals and build up from there. Many of our students had never used Pivot Tables before joining.
What is the difference between MIS & Reporting and Data Analytics?
MIS focuses on reporting, dashboards, and operational data management — the backbone of business operations. Data Analytics goes further into data-driven decision making, using SQL, Power BI, and Tableau for strategic insights. MIS is a faster, more focused path to a first job.
Do I need to learn programming or coding for this course?
No coding is required. VBA Macros in Module 5 involve simple scripting — but we teach it step-by-step and it is much simpler than learning a full programming language.
What kind of projects will I build?
Two industry-standard MIS projects: a monthly P&L Dashboard (built in Excel and Power BI) and an Operational Tracker (built using SQL + Excel). Both are designed to be discussed in interviews as proof of skill.
How long does it take to get a job after completing this course?
Most students who actively participate in placement drives get their first interview call within 2–4 weeks of completing the course. Offer timelines vary, but most placed students land a role within 30–60 days.
